Refunds, disputes and payment problems

What happens when a completion is denied, and how disputes and payment issues are resolved.

Most jobs go smoothly, but sometimes there's a disagreement about whether work was completed. Here's how KidsHustle handles it.

When a completion is denied

After a teen marks a job complete with photos, the job owner reviews it. If the job owner denies the completion, the job doesn't just end — it moves to a review stage where the situation can be looked at fairly.

How disputes are resolved

Because payment is held with us, the money isn't released until things are sorted. If a completion is disputed, support can step in to review the evidence — including the photos and the in-app messages — and help both sides reach a fair outcome.

What you can do

  • Teens: always submit clear completion photos and keep communication in the app, so there's a record of what was agreed.

  • Job owners: only deny a completion for real issues, and explain the problem clearly.

  • Parents of teens: you can see the messages and help your teen through any dispute.
